Linda J. Hill, LCSW, DCSW, has conducted a clinical private practice for 25 years in Social Work with emphasis on individuals (adolescents & adults), couples, groups & families. One of the treatment modalities she uses is hypnotherapy. She also provides LCSW supervision.
A phenomenon characterized by a person's ability to respond
to appropriate suggestions by altering perception or memory; usually
associated with the experience of behaving nonvolitionally. Factors
determining the subject's responsivity include the nature of the preexisting
relationship with the hypnotist, prior expectations, beliefs, and
motivations concerning hypnosis and, most important, characterologic and
individual differences.
